Data Deletion & Retention
Last updated: August 30, 2026
You can delete your Minimal Platter account and its data yourself, from inside the app, without contacting us. This page explains how to do it, what gets removed, and what is kept afterwards.
Delete your account from the app
- Open Minimal Platter and tap the menu icon at the top of the log screen.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll to the Account section.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read the confirmation, then tap Delete.
You need to be signed in and online. If you signed in a long time ago, the app may ask you to sign in again first — that check exists so nobody else can delete your account from an unlocked phone. Deletion is permanent and there is no undo, so note down anything you want to keep before you confirm.
What deletion removes
Confirming deletion removes the following straight away, in a single pass:
- Every food and activity entry stored for your account.
- Your saved recipes.
- Your profile and onboarding details, including nickname, goals, and body details.
- The subscription and usage records we hold for you, along with the internal request counters attached to your account.
- Your sign-in account itself, plus any active sessions, which are revoked so an old session cannot be reused.
- The copy of your data on your device — entries, recipes, profile, and your supplement stacks and check-off history — cleared at the same time. Uninstalling the app also removes the local copy.
Retention after deletion
There is no waiting period and no hidden "deleted" state: your account data is removed when you confirm, not queued for later. A few things outlive the account:
- Shared nutrition estimates. When an entry is analysed, the resulting figures are cached against the food text rather than against you. These cached figures carry no account identifier and expire automatically — within 30 days for a cached analysis, and within 90 days for a cached per-100 g product figure.
- Aggregate usage records. We keep daily and weekly counts of how much the app was used, to see whether people stay. These hold the random account identifier that was active on a given day, and no entries, profile details, or email address. Once an account is deleted, that identifier no longer resolves to anyone.
- Operational server logs. Routine backend logs are kept for a short operational window and then deleted automatically by our hosting provider. [To be confirmed: exact retention window for server logs and aggregate usage records] — email us if you need the precise figure and we will confirm it.
What deletion does not touch
Your subscription is held by Google Play, not by us, so deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel or manage it in your Google Play account, under Subscriptions. If you also gave us your email on our website, that sits separately from your app account — email us and we will remove it.
Deleting individual entries instead
If you only want to remove specific data, you do not need to delete the whole account. Entries and recipes can be deleted inside the app at any time, and a deleted entry goes from your account as well as from your device.
Need help?
If you cannot sign in and so cannot use the in-app flow, email support@minimalplatter.app from the address on the account and we will delete it for you. For how your data is handled while the account is active, see the Privacy Policy.
